It is about damn time!! We had to wait until season 3, episode 10, before we got a real kiss between the two.

And then… they had to go and screw with the Eric/Sookie shippers AGAIN.

The episode was a dream up until the end. Eric found Sookie and Bill hiding out at Jason’s and he confronted Bill about his lying ass and Sookie overheard part of it. Bill was already losing luster in her eyes after she found out she was a fairy and that her blood was like a drug to vampires. Now she rightfully questions if Bill ever really loved her. THEN what she heard Eric say plants more seeds of doubt. Sookie demands to know why she should trust Eric and he tells her something no other vampire has.. “You do whatever you want to do”. She looks shocked and then he follows that up saying he won’t be around much longer and that he wishes her well. We saw a truly selfless Eric in that scene and one who actually DOES care about Sookie.

Later Sookie dreams about Eric and he (via her subconscious) tells her that she has feelings for him, despite the blood bond and that blood bond or no she knows she can’t trust Bill. Following her intuition she visits Eric at Fangtasia and confronts him about Bill. Instead of telling her, he kisses her and she is happy to return that kiss in this delightful scene:

As you can see, he is adamant that Sookie not be used in a plot to save himself from King Russell. BUT Pam begs and invokes Godric’s name and you see his mind change right there. He can’t do to Pam what Godric did to him. Pam basically said he was choosing Sookie over her and this hits him like a tons of bricks. He then decides to use her in some way and chains her up in the basement.

I understand it but I don’t like it. I just hope he has a plan and if AB is making him go this dark I can only hope he will have Eric be the redeemer in the end. I also have to remember that Eric truly doesn’t believe Sookie cares for him at all.. he said as much in the bar.. aka you are just here about Bill. So when it comes down to it how can he choose Sookie over Pam? Sacrificing himself and breaking Pam’s heart for the person who claims she would rather have cancer than be friendly with him? Yeah logically it wouldn’t happen. But either he has a plan so she will be okay in the end or he will see what he has done and be so guilt ridden he has to make things right. I hope, I hope.

What I fear is that they will keep Eric as the villain and make Sookie hate him all the more so that when season 4 rolls around and she falls for amnesia Eric it will be 1) only the stark contrast that appeals to her and 2) it will be easy to have her go back to Bill because after all she never had a relationship with the “real” Eric and when he gets his memory back the man she liked is gone. I will be soooo pisssed if it goes that way and would likely quit watching after season 4.

One thing is for sure.. this season has been a roller coaster for me. If it ends on a good note and Eric is not made out to be the big bad villain and he does get to save the day…. then it will all be worth it. Will I get what I am hoping for? We shall see.

Why so quiet about the last two episodes? Well, I guess it was because I don’t know what to say about the roller coaster that is True Blood season 3.

In episode 9 I fully expected there to be a big break-up between Bill and Sookie. And in the beginning of the episode they did in fact break-up, after she woke up in the hospital after he almost killer her. I was sooooo happy that their relationship was dead and buried and then the rug got ripped out from underneath me as the episode ended with Bill and Sookie professing their love and having primal sex on the floor.

In episode 10 they are cleaning up Sookie’s house with nary a word about their break-up… as if it never happened. She does ask Bill about the file he kept on her but he lies (like the pond scum he is). Sookie asked him if he knew the Queen and he said he was merely a subject of hers when we know full well he was a right hand man.. a procurer of whatever miss Sophie Anne wanted. And oh so ironically he moved to Bon Temps and acquired the person QSA was so interested in. Hmmmm….. He also told Sookie he only kept a file on her to deduce why Eric Northman was so interested in her. Bill Compton is a BIG FAT LIAR!

The preview and spoilers for future episodes have me biting my nails. Pam asks Eric why he doesn’t hand Sookie over to Russell as a bargaining chip, which is alarming.  But he does have a moment with Sookie where he tells her that if he dies he will always regret not having kissed her… sweet.

But will he turn around and use her as a pawn? The Eric from the books wouldn’t but Alan Ball seems to enjoy tearing the book character apart and making him the villain.

From the episode 11 description we have this tidbit: “Knowing he’s no physical match for the King, Eric tempts Russell with the “ultimate vampire dream.”

Could that be Sookie and her “powers”? This spoiler photo seems consistent with that.

What the Freakin Heck????? Alan Ball if your life had a face I would punch it.

Anyway, Sookie doesn’t seem to be struggling or surprised. Maybe she and Eric devised this plan together… I hope, I hope??? But the episode 12 description tells us Eric has something to feel guilty about: “Eric grapples with his conscience while plotting his perfect revenge against Russell.” Ugh.

Alan Ball has already said that the season 3 finale will be mostly about Eric, Sookie, Bill and trust and that it will go some place unexpected. The suspense is killing me. I just hope I won’t be throwing darts at my TV because it turns out that Bill is the hero of the day and Eric is the stuff you scrape off the bottom of your shoe.

The episode began with Sookie being attacked by Lorena and Alan Ball did a classic ass-hat thing by taking away Sookie’s first vampire kill by making Bill the hero… holding Lorena down and pointing to a stake… which Sookie then used.

Alcide and Tara come in just then and tell Sookie they need to leave NOW! Sookie of course won’t leave without Beel… so they are all put in danger to save him. They wrap him in a tarp and Sookie makes another bone head move by getting in the back of Alcide’s truck with him. She cuts her arm with a saw and gives him some blood to revive him. It works too well and Bill attacks her in a feeding frenzy, with his hand clamped over mouth to keep her from screaming. When Tara and Alcide open the truck doors they discover what Bill has done. Tara pushes Bill out of the truck to burn in the sun and they drive off. Bill does start to smoke a bit but he does not burn.. which is very mysterious. I think this is due to Sookie’s blood and this is what motivated the investigation into Sookie but that is just my guess.

We are given no indication that Eric senses Sookie is in trouble.. which dissapointed me. I wanted Eric to show up at the hospital.. where Sookie is dying… and give her his blood to heal her. But of course, Mr. afore mentioned Ass-Hat, wrote Bill in as the savior.. ONCE AGAIN!

But while Sookie was in her coma she dreams of her cousin Claudine or her mind met up with Claudine via atsral projection, I am not sure. Claudine tells Sookie that Bill is the darkness and that he wants to steal her light. Sookie argues that Bill is not like that but Claudine tells her she is WRONG.

“Bill is not like that!” Sookie says to Claudine and she replies, “I don’t have the time to explain to you why your wrong! You have to come with us Sookie! It’s not safe for you anymore!” Sookie asks, “Why?” Claudine replies, “He [Bill] will steal your light!”

When Sookie wakes from the coma, due to Bill’s healing blood, she sees Bill and immediately starts screaming. LOVED that!!

Meanwhile Eric is a busy boy. He drinks Hadley to try and get the Queen to tell him why Sookie is of interest. The Queen refuses to tell, even if it means Hadley will die but Hadley whispers something in Eric’s ear that greatly surprises him. What was it??!??!?!?!

Then he goes to save Pam, who is being tortured by the Magister. Eric arrives with Sophie Ann and King Russell and the moment when Eric goes up to Pam, who is chained to a table with silver is just precious!! All the Bill fans who say Eric cares about no one but himself can suck on this scene!

Eric: “You okay”

Aww… the hand in her hair, it makes me melt…

The preview for next week looks like the beginning of Sookie and Bill’s breaking up and Eric puts his revenge plan into action.

This episode was delicious! It has tons of goodies for Eric and Sookie fans!!

In the first episode Sookie found a Nazi symbol for “Operation Werewolf” on the dead man she found in Bill’s car. Jessica finds out if has something to do with werewolves and the first place Sookie goes for help is to Eric. They talk at a table in Fangtasia and he tells her that werewolves do exist and that they are bad news. He wants her to stay away from this investigation and that he doesn’t care if Bill ever comes back. Sookie begins to cry and she begs Eric for his help. Eric is noticeably uncomfortable with her tears and with talking to her in general about “feelings”. This is a marked contrast to Eric in earlier episodes. Whether it be the blood bond or the just the progression of their relationship, Eric is starting to “feel” for Sookie and be affected by her. Human tears would not be something that has moved Eric in a VERY long time. Eric confesses that is compelled to help Sookie.

Eric: Please don’t do that. It makes me feel disturbingly human.

At the end of this scene we see that Eric was withholding information from Sookie about the werewolves and he has a flashback memory of himself and Godric hunting them during WWII.

One of the main issues I had with the two previous seasons is that Bill is set up to be the “good guy” and Eric was made out to be bad. In this episode that starts to turn around. The vampire Franklin Mott breaks into Bill’s home and we see him going through a hidden “Sookie file” in Bill’s possessions. Bill has newspaper clippings, a family tree, and photos that go back to when Sookie was a child. We are left with the feeling that Bill may have known about Sookie before he actually met Sookie, which is disturbing. Also Bill has been abducted by the King of Mississippi who makes not-so veiled remarks about how unlikely it would be that the Queen of Louisiana would have let a vampire of importance to her (Bill) move to the country and fall in love with a waitress. We can only assume that the King thinks the Queen not only approved of this move… she and Bill may have planned it. Which of course means that Sookie was an assignment for Bill…he moved to Bon Temps with a mission to engage Sookie and get her trust. I was afraid they may not delve into this storyline, which is important to the books because it signals the demise of Sookie and Bill. My hopes and wishes for season three are being realized.. at least so far.

After Sookie spots a werewolf following her near Merlotte’s, Eric goes to Sookie’s home and confesses that he didn’t tell her everything and that these particular werewolves are different and especially dangerous. He wants to protect her and asks to be invited in to her home.

“Invite me in so I can protect you – or have passionate, primal sex with you… how about both?”

Sookie responds with ad nauseum talk about how she can’t trust him. Never mind the fact that twice this season she runs to Eric for help when she needs it. Alas Eric senses that there is danger inside the home and he demands that she invite him in NOW… which she does. They enter the house and Eric fangs out to attack a werwolfe who is standing in the foyer. Sookie unloads a shot from the gun she got from Terri and the episode closes….

This was one fantastic episode for Team Eric!! I REALLY like how the relationship between Eric and Sookie is progressing. Eric is clearly showing that he cares for Sookie and she is quickly seeing that Eric is her Viking in Shining Armor.

I have to say that I was not overly thrilled with the premiere episode of True Blood Season Three. The one gem was the basement scene and if you saw it yourself you likely need no further explanation. Yowsa!!!

Sookie jumps to the conclusion that Eric may have something to do with Bill’s disappearance so she goes to Fangtasia and confronts him. He is having sex with one of his dancers (Yvette) whilst she is chained to a wall by her hands and feet. We see Eric in all his naked Viking glory as he unabashedly asks Sookie why she is there and what theories she has about Bill’s vamp-napping. He also tells Sookie not to pursue it on her own.

The rest of the episode has some good scenes with Eric and Pam and then Eric and the Queen but I was dissapointed in the slowness of the episode and the lack of interaction between Sookie and Eric. Episode two, Beautifully Broken, made up for this though!!
